I have sat here trying to write this blog for a while now.

I have written a lot of words,

but none of them accurately describe my thoughts.

I want so badly to be able to write to you all

in a way that will define exactly what it looks like here,

and exactly what God is doing here.

I want you all to get the full picture of

what ministry looks like here.

So let me paint you a picture.

Imagine walking down 6th street in Austin,

bars all around and tons of people surrounding them.

Got it?

Now imagine that inside those bars are Thai girls

selling their bodies in hopes of a better life

with a foreign man.

And then imagine American, European or Australian men

hanging on these girls.

Men that have broken marriages,

or have lost their families.

Men that really are only lonely

and just need someone to love them for one night.

Now that you have the picture,

let me explain to you what it feels like.

I walk down the streets

and my initial reaction is to scream and yell.

I want to yell out that their is more to life than this,

there is more to living than selling sex.

I want to hit every man I see

and tell him that what he is doing is wrong

and he is ruining life for the young girl that

he has his hands all over.

These are the things my flesh want to do,

but the Holy Spirit inside of me is saying

“Kursti it’s all about love, I just want you to love them”

The women,

the men

and the innocent little children

all they really need is to feel love.

I am not here to tell them about Jesus,

but I am here to show them Jesus.

I have accepted that I am not here to rescue the girls,

but I am here to show them something different.

I am here to let the Jesus inside of me come alive

without even speaking His name.

It’s not about what I can do,

or how I can love.

It’s about how the Lord is using me only as a representative

of His love.

My prayer is that the way I love will be a

reflection of the way He loves me.

My prayer is to simply let my actions tell of Jesus,

and not my words.

My prayer is that I will carry His presence with me

so that when I walk into a bar

His presence fills the room.

My heart has broken for these women

and these men.

The verse the Lord has given me for the men is

“Father forgive them, for they do not

know what they are doing”.

Luke 23: 34

Because honestly they don’t know

what they are doing.

Please continue praying for

my team as we go out into the bars these next 2 1/2 weeks.

We got out at night and during the day.

Thank you so much for your prayers during this month!

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”
