This week has been full of many opportunities to get to know my squad mates better. I have been loving deep meaningful conversations about life and faith. I have also loved hearing testimonies of my new family. I was even able to share my entire testimony to my team, which was a first for me since I rarely talk about my past. I can honestly say that a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders. I am glad that my new family knows who I am and where I have come from. Plus they still love me so that is awesome.
This week we worked on the property and it was surprisingly a lot of fun. I was able to paint two poles that are in the entrance to the property. I liked seeing my paint job and how much better they looked plus I loved taking the nails and barbed wire off. I also helped build a rock wall and that was a lot of fun but hard work. It was like a giant jigsaw puzzle. It made me think of God and how purposeful he was when he planned us and how are lives are like the wall built up and comprised of many parts to make one sturdy structure.
We also have found a restaurant that has some amazing tacos for only 20 lempiras or $1. They are so good and it’s a great place to go and get off the property for a little while. I loved sitting outside and just staring out over the mountains while we ate our tacos.
I have loved getting more intimate with God and truly seeing his love for me. I have been spending time daily in scripture and prayer. It is amazing. My current favorite scripture is “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart” Psalm 37:4. How true that verse is for my life. I have been never felt happier or been more delighted with my life. I knew I’d be changed but it’s amazing how much I have grown in just the two weeks I have been out of the USA.
Sorry for the lack of photos the interenet here is not so good. Also I still need $4,500 in order to stay on the race! Please help me out or ask your friends, family or church to help me!
