Psalm 45: 10-11

“Hear, O daughter, and consider, and incline your ear: forget your people and your father’s house, and the king will desire your beauty. Since he is your lord, bow to him.”

So you’re probably wondering what in the world Kiatera means?” Well, before we get to that let me first introduce this beautiful team….

Brandi, Katie, Lisa, & Lindsay are four amazing women who God has specifically placed me onto a team with for this coming year (You are always a part of us Amanda!) Can we say excited!!! Though we’ve only had 10 days at training camp to get know eachother so far, I’m pretty confident to say we’ll bond just fine….Starbucks, bright pink 80’s shirts with “Love is a battlefield” to wear throughout the year, finding a crazy ‘who know’s what’ mascot named ZaZa, discovering that we all like to dance (some of us a little different flavor than others), & therefore, agreeing we must come up with a dance to video tape home from every country we visit….For being given a couple hours of team time together and using it as creatively as this, I can’t wait to see what will take place in 11 months!

With all this to say, our team struggled for quite a while to come to a consensus about what our name would be. We finally decided upon Kiatera, which means daughters in an Italian dialect.  And though I don’t know much about these girls just yet, I must say this seems quite fitting.  My prayer for our team this year is that God would show us what it means to be his daughters as we live out life in Him, that he would strip away all that is necessary from our current identities, and that he would show us exactly who we are called to be…how he sees us, hears us, & loves us as he walks alongside of us as our Abba Father.

Daddy, rock this world through us this year!
