The pastor’s wife asked if one of us could share the Word. We had just traveled most of the day to get to our ministry here in Malaysia, and we were all pretty tired.

I did what my normal response is to that (often asked on the World Race) question: Ask Jesus if He wanted me to share, while begging in the back of my mind that it wasn’t going to be my turn today. And I was a little overwhelmed when He told me to share.

I didn’t have my bible. I didn’t even have a version of the bible that I typically use. And I didn’t know what I was going to say. So I asked Him what He wanted me to share. He made it easy and told me: Share with them what I am teaching you.

It brought me to a passage I have read and heard a lot in the last 6 weeks “for such a time as this” from Esther 4:14. For this moment, we are in Malaysia. We live in this city, to be a minister to these people, right now. We aren’t a week late, a moment too early, but right on time. We didn’t show up to Nepal a week early, or a week late. We didn’t launch at the wrong time, and we won’t be home a moment too soon.

Just as soon as I finished teaching, the Pastor’s wife looks at me with joy on her face and says that she just finished studying that passage herself. That just days before she was mediating on it. The same God who was in me was the same God that was in Pastor’s Wife just days before, leading her to the same passage that He’s led me back to over and over again in this season of my race.

I love when God shows up in these quiet moments, not announcing his presence but quietly inserting Himself into our lives. That if we’re focused on the number of hands after an invitation or the amount of families we gave dinner to, we’ll miss it. I don’t want to miss the moments where God just shows up in the quiet. He’s moving around you. Did you see Him today? In what?

Until He Comes,

Kristy
