One of the big things about the race is the fact that we live in community, with each other, 100% of the time. I thought I would introduce my family to the family I will have for the first part of the race.

Meet Team Kabod:

(Left to Right: Katie, Grant, Myself, Mason, Kelley, Cole, and Sarah)

And the incredible ladies of Team Kabod:

(Left to Right: Katie, Kelley, Sarah, and Myself)

Meet Katie:

If you spend five minutes with her without experiencing some emotion, you must not have a heart beat. She has a passion for people, laughter, and life that is unmatched. She pushes me to laugh more and enjoy the little things. I can’t wait to spend time with her.

Meet Sarah:

As soon as I met this girl, I knew I wanted to spend as much time as possible as I could with her. She’s passionate about Jesus, and has some great advice. She pushes me to Jesus when I need to go past the hard parts of my life. I can’t wait to share more stories about her this year.

Meet Kelley:

We share some special loves, like college football, except we cheer for two different teams. (We are friends except for one day a year..) A Texan, true southern belle, and another one of the people that I knew when I first met that we would be friends for a long time. I’m looking forward to someone that I can talk college football, Jesus, and so many other things this year.

Meet Cole:

Cole and I met along the wall in the training center, during a time that most of our team was having a dance party when God decided to remind me that he is a God with a sense of humor. I can’t recall our exact conversation, but Cole proceeded to tell me that he was also finishing paramedic school in December. It was on that wall that I told God that I wanted him on my team. I spend a few days then considering the fact that I wouldn’t have Cole on my team because of the very thing that brings us together. And then God laughed because he put Cole on my team. Cole is a Texan, with aims to be a fire-medic. Cole, like the other men on our team, is a true gentleman who loves Jesus with everything he has inside of him.

Meet Mason:

Mason is one of the people that you meet and you want to be his friend. A born leader who laughs and loves life, but speaks so much truth when he talks. He isn’t scared to call out things in his team that need to be changed, but he does it with a love that reflects his Father so well. A true gentleman, Mason is often found serving his team, serving others, and loving Jesus.

Meet Grant:

If you think you have met Grant, look to see if he has shoes on. If he doesn’t, you’ve met him. Grant loves Jesus, and loves his team so well. Grant is our team leader, and is walking in his calling. Another gentleman, constantly found serving the people around him. He serves the women and men on his team in a particularly special way. Grant loves. And it shows. I can’t wait to the journey that God takes him on this year.
