As you might be able to tell, we are all getting along so well as a team, we love our host family, and God is blessing us constantly by the people we are able to interact with! This weekend we were able to spend time with some local youth our age which was super encouraging! Our host family went out of town for a wedding, so Courtenay (our host mom) set us up with a friend of hers, Melania. Melania attends a Christian Church in Cartago, and over the weekend we were able to go and help with their Vacation Bible School as well as attend some of their Bible studies and young adult groups.

One thing I loved about going to church (Cristo Viene) this weekend is that it reminded me of some of the churches I've attended in the United States. The pastors are devoted to teaching straight from the Bible, plus the young adults have a group where they can grow in the knowledge of the Bible, have accountable fellowship, and be challenged to serve locally within the church and even internationally as missionaries. Cristo Viene sends people to Bosnia, Mexico, and a closed country which can't be named. Feel free to pray for thie church as it is one of few Christian (not Catholic) churches in Cartago!
This week our team will be painting a mural at a local school, which was designed by our one and only Ciera Nelson. Ciera is probably the greatest artist I know and it has been so so evident as to why God placed her on our team. I love that Ciera is able to serve Jesus through art and love the joy it brings to everyone we encounter.
Recently she wrote a blog about the orphanage that our hosts are involved with ((and the story is incredible))
