What a blessing this ministry is! We are partnered with REAP Granada here in Nicaragua. We’ve been farming and visiting the sweetest of people at the local dump and nursing home.
One of my personal favorite things we do is nearly everyday we walk around the community visiting people in their homes, hearing their stories, sharing ours, and praying over them.
They are super welcoming to our odd gringo selves walking into their homes. We’ve seen healing and hearts softened. We’ve heard hallelujahs. We’ve witnessed God’s love; and we’ve had the honor to be examples of His love. We’ve had the privilege to pray blessing, protection, and peace over every person we’ve encountered. We’ve loved every minute of it.
It makes me wonder what this would be like in the States. What if we started intentionally asking the people we encounter every day if we could pray for them?
I actually had this experience while flying to Nicaragua. I was seated on the airplane beside two strangers and their beautiful newborn baby. We became fast friends during the flight and by the end I simply asked with a heart full of love for them if I could pray for them. It may have been a little awkward but it was an honor for me and they seemed grateful.
In my last blog I wrote about receiving God’s love and giving it away. Honestly, I would have never thought I’d be that person to ask strangers if I could pray for them. However something really cool happens when you open your heart to love. There’s no room for fear and it becomes easier to love others. Praise God.
Guys, I’m just in love with the Father’s heart. We’re here in Nicaragua for two more weeks!
Thank you for your continued love and support.
