This week was spent in Coffs Harbor Australia. It is a beautiful place, much more of an established community than a tourist spot. You can’t help but recognize Gods creation here from the beaches, to the botanical gardens, to the kangaroos, to sunrises, it has been a blessing to enjoy. Once again we were partnered with YWAM, their focus here is supporting, blessing, and serving the local churches, so we got to join them in that. Ephesians 4:11-13 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for the works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. What a great thing to be a part of.
Sunday morning we were split up into small groups to get to as many churches as possible to encourage and bless them and serve where they had a need. Life House Church (where we are staying) had some projects they needed help with from fixing all the chairs in the sanctuary, to cleaning out rooms for use, scrubbing down their kids play area (which we of course had to try out first). We spent a day at Sherwood Cliffs Christian Drug Rehabilitation Center were we meet with other volunteers there and had a morning devotion and worship session. Then we were put to work all over the facility. My group was responsible for cleaning the outsides of the houses for the women… a job that had not been done in a couple of years… which meant spiders!!! But God was good and kept them off me physically and we were able to clean 5houses for them. Two days were spent at the botanical gardens doing mulching and gardening, and as we did, praying over the grounds that anyone who entered would feel Gods peace and presence… an of course my added prayer to keep the snakes which we were warned about away!! We spent an afternoon writing letters to all the youth workers around town to bless and uplift time. Last night we split in half and attended two different youth groups and got to hang out and encourage the young people here who are on fire for God!
One theme that has been totally present here is prayer. So many of us has felt God calling us to pray. Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. So we prayed, over Byron Bay, over Coffs Harbor, over our squad, over people at home, over churches and gardens. The verse God specifically placed on my heart was Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Reminding me to pray with conviction and confidence and that He is good and faithful!!! So please join with us in covering each county with prayer, it is powerful!
