Hey y’all!

Welcome to my blog. That’s really so crazy to say “my blog”.

  1. I’m not a blogger/writer

  2. Don’t judge me if I start writing like I talk. Ha!

I’m Kristin. You may or may not know me (if you’ve stumbled upon this magical work of art), but either way I hope you are able to get a glimpse of who I am, my heart for the Lord and others, and learn abou my journey!

I’m 26 years old. I love to joke around, so I hope that you can catch the undertones and some of the sarcasm I will inevitably include in my writing. I sometimes have felt the pressure of people asking if/when I’m going to college to get a degree or “when are you getting married?”. Y’all need to calm down a little bit. (see like that right there) 🙂

I currently am my great grandfather’s caretaker. He has alzheimers and a few other health issues. Unfortunately, we are in the process of having to place him in a nursing home because it has become unsafe to keep him here at home. I have spent my twenties working and taking care of others as a CNA or taking care of family members who have been sick.

I was born and raised in Hickory, NC. My mom and dad are both remarried. I have two younger sisters, a step-sister, and a super cool brother-in-law. (He’s gonna be so excited I wrote that).

I love spending time with my family when I get the opportunity. I love worshiping the Lord through singing, dancing before Him and even playing a little guitar. I enjoy watching my baby sister play softball. I love church, my church family, and my amazing life group. I love kids and have so many friends who are age 5 and under. (It’s honestly because they think I’m like the coolest person ever)

I initially felt the call to missions 4-5 years ago driving home from a conference I attended. I heard the Lord very audibly say, “You are going to go to the nations.” Let me tell you I pulled that car over to the side of the road so fast and got my phone out to make a note. I was crying, because I’m a crier, asking the Lord if He was sure. What did you just say to me? Are you sure you contacted the right person? Me? Little ole’ me? I’m not qualified Lord!  Needless to say, all of the mess I put myself through I thought the day would never come.

September 2017 I went on my first trip to the Dominican Republic and I was hooked. It was confirmation of what the Lord had spoke and what had been prophesied over my life. Serving those people made me feel alive and beaming with purpose!

I found out about the World Race from a friend that I went to high school with, but thought to myself that it was never something I could do. Last year as I was scrolling facebook, one of the sponsored ads went through my news feed and I began to research it. I had applied last year and didn’t get accepted. God’s timing is perfect and he knew that I wasn’t ready then. I was told to re-apply this year, and HERE WE ARE! Just writing this tears are streaming down my face because I’m still pinching myself.

Please be in prayer for me and my squad! (They are the 40+ people I will be going on this trip with) Pray for us to be in unity. Pray for me to continue to have direction in the months until we launch in August. Pray for favor on fundraising!

I look forward to telling my story! I am excited for you to partner with me in prayer and financially so that we can reach the nations together!

Grace and  Peace,

Kristin
