I had a dream. In that dream, I was falling from the sky into a deadly body of water when suddenly God began carrying me across the skies to a ledge of safety. To everyone watching, it appeared as if I were flying and we all celebrated in excitment. My praise was shortlived and interrupted by bad news, and I had quickly forgotten about what God had just done.

God was showing me how I can often forget everything He has brought me through when I focus on the waves instead of the Calmer of the Seas. I wrote a poem in response to that revelation. I never want to forget WHO my God is and HOW much He loves me!

DISCLAIMER: I’m not a poet – Just a woman who loves Jesus, recognizes what He has saved her from, and knows her life is nothing without Him.

Father, I never want to forget all you’ve done for me.
How you’ve lifted me above eagles’ wings and made me fly.
I was headed to my destruction.
Falling. Nothing to catch me but a sea of death.

In my own strength, I strove for survival,
But you saw my vain attempts from afar.
You wouldn’t let my feet hit the starving water, boistering beneath me,
Waiting to swallow me whole.

Instead of drowning in my sins, I sink in your ocean of grace.
You don’t try to teach me lessons;
You love me too much to prove me wrong.
No, Your perfect love is never proud.
It keeps no record of who’s right.
But if we did keep count, there would be no doubt about who’s winning.
You ALWAYS come to my rescue.
The score you’ve accomplished is far too great to be numbered!

How wonderful you are, my Lord, my King!
How glorious is your name!
Keep me lited, I pray,
Take me higher – to the highest of the clouds,
I will sing your praises even there!

Your name is great, and I will glorify you forever.
Your ways are precious to me.
I keep them in my heart and am in daily pursuit to know more.
Abba Father, Wonderful Saviour, Precious King
I will never forget all you’ve done.
