God has been reminding me of a lot of things this morning, and it all started with this scripture …

"One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers—Simon, also called Peter, and Andrew—throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living. Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!”  And they left their nets at once and followed him.  A little farther up the shore he saw two other brothers, James and John, sitting in a boat with their father, Zebedee, repairing their nets. And he called them to come, too.  They immediately followed him, leaving the boat and their father behind."  Matthew 4:18 – 22

Remember my first disciples?
Remember how they were busy at work when I called them?
Remember their immediate response?
They didn't even know me! Nor did they have any idea of what was in their future.
Remember When ….

Remember when I saved you?
Remember when I told you that you would impact many nations?
Remember when you chose the road more frequently traveled?
You wanted the American Dream. You wanted to be successful.
I would've given you success! Because I love you.
Remember When …

Remember when "the good life" wasn't good enough?
Remember how I guided your steps and put you back on track?
Remember how I pursued you?
Even when you pursued other things. I never gave up on you!
Remember When …

Remember how I restored your joy? Your innocence? Your purity?
Remember when you told me that you would do ANYTHING for me?
Remember when I asked you to leave your nets and follow ME?
I have such great plans for you, dear one. You too will be a fisher of men!
Remember When …

Remember your immediate response?
Remember being afraid? Even to the point that you felt your heart was sinking down to your feet?
Remember asking for a sign? (Oh, the ridiculous signs that you asked for, lol)
I wanted your obedience.  I wanted you to activate your great faith.
I wanted to see how honest you were being when you sang your love songs to me.
Remember When …

Remember the promises that I have given you?
Remember how you hid them in your heart?
Remember when I said that you can be sure of this: "I am with you always, even to the end of the age"?
I am God. I can not lie.
I will see to it that EVERY word I have spoken will come to pass.
Remember When …..

In awe of this nostalgic moment, I could only utter back one simple response:
Yes Lord, I remember.
