Maybe I'm crazy, but I have this insane idea that YOU MUST be a part of in order for it to work. I've been actively fundraising since about February. In 5 solid months, I've been able to raise about $8,000. THAT IS AMAZING! Some of the money went towards paying for the race itself, some went towards purchasing gear, and some went towards my vaccinations. I never would've imagined being able to raise funds like this and I never would've been able to do it alone.
Now I'm at the point where I need at least 80% of my future donations to go towards my race because not completing all 11 months is NOT an option for me. I only need $6,500 to start the race and complete at least 3 months; however, the reality is that once I leave I won't be able to actively fundraise. There is also the possibility that I will go an entire month without wi-fi or the ability to update you guys on where I stand financially.
With that being said, I've set a goal of reaching $10,000 towards my race BEFORE I leave in September. That's right … I'm hoping to raise an additional $4500 in the next 65 days (I told you it was an insane idea, didn't I?). I have to aim high in order to reach high targets, and there is nothing too hard for God.
I NEED YOUR HELP! I'm not asking for your money, necessarily, because I'm pretty sure I've exhausted my network when it comes to asking for or receiving financial support, and the last thing I want to do is to cause anyone to get tired of giving. I AM asking for YOUR network. There are a lot of people who I haven't yet reached and many of them are people who you know. Your friends, your family, your coworkers, your church members, your neighbors, and others who I will never have a chance to speak with. I'm asking that you share my story with them! I'm asking that you subscribe to my monthly newsletter and forward them on to people who you know. I'm asking that you tweet my blogs and share them on your Facebook page, re-tweet me (Twitter: www.twitter.com/krissi1908), like and share my World Race related facebook statuses (Facebook: www.facebook.com/KristinaMoniqueSmith), buy my supporter T-shirt and wear it! You may work for a small business that is looking for a tax break opportunity, ALL donations to my race are tax deductible! Be creative, but whatever you do, PLEASE SPREAD THE NEWS! I know that I can't do it by myself, but I also know that together we can reach and pass this goal! The last thing I want is to stress about funds when I can be focusing on working for the kingdom.

I know a lot of you read my blogs and like what I'm doing. I LOVE THAT! I love hearing how I've motivated and touched and impacted other peoples lives. Now it's your turn to impact the lives of people you know. Sure, it took me 5 months to raise $8,000. Sure, only $5,500 of that is reflected in my grand total for the race. But who says I can't raise $4,500 more in 65 days??? It's totally possible! Maybe I'm crazy, but maybe this just might work!! I have seen God do some extraordinary things, and I am so excited that we can witness together how God moves in the next couple of months. So start now and share!!
