I've gotten a few questions about what I need and how I'll get it when it comes to supporting my World Race. I wanted to answer those questions and also shed light on the MANY OPPORTUNITIES you have to support me.
Disclaimer: I kinda suck at asking for things. There have been very few instances when I've needed to ask for something from someone else. But the cold, hard truth is that right now I CAN NOT accomplish The World Race or any of the other amazing dreams that I have without the help of others; and by others I mean YOU!
Q: How much does the World Race cost?
A: My WR Route costs $15,500. It sounds like a A LOT (and it is!) but with the help of many I know it is possible. Here is the tentaive schedule for when my money is due:
- $3500 – June 1, 2013
- $6500 – August 18, 2013
- $11,000 – December 1, 2013
- $15,500 – March 1, 2014
Q: Wait, you have deadlines in Decemeber 2013 and March 2014 … I thought your WR began in September?
A: That's right! Adventures In Missions understands that raising $15,000+ can be very overwhelming and that every individual commits to their mission at different times. Some of us being accepted on a route that begins in less than 6 months! The donations schedule is designed so that the total amount is not due until you are halfway through your World Race!
Q: I'd really like to give $500, but I only have $50 right now. Is there a payment plan option?
A: ABSOLUTELY YES!!!! In fact, the monthly donation plan is the best way to support for multiple reasons:
- As an online payment option, it incurs the smallest convenience fee. Only 1/2%
- It allows for you to establish your own monthly contribution amount, start date, & end date for automatic drafts from a bank account. This means that you can SET IT & FORGET IT!!! (LOL, I like infomercials )
- This provides the greatesst amount of support for me. Think about it … many people can't afford a lump donation of $50, $100, $200, $500, or more; but, you may be able to manage $10 a month, $50 a month, or $100 a month for 12 months. That adds up to more than a one time contribution, which will help me reach my goal quicker!

Q: Other than cost of the trip itself, are there other funds and needs associated with going on The World Race?
A: Definitely! There are other (non-tax deductible) ways that I am asking for your support. I must purchase health insurance (~$300), vaccinations (~$800), outdoor traveling packing items (i.e. tent, sleeping bag, large frame backpack, etc)

Q: Times are tough Kristina! As much as I'd like to, I really can't afford any monetary donation. How else can I help?
A: Believe me, at no point in my life have I understood being in this category more than I do now. The good news is that you CAN still help in a HUGE way!
- Prayer!! I need people in my corner who can commit to praying with me and for me on a DAILY basis! This is a very serious matter and my goal is to change lives and attack the enemy's camp. He won't let it go easy and I will need your spiritual warfare. If you would like to commit to being a prayer partner, please let me know by leaving a comment.
