Never have I thought I would save a life on the Race.
First week in the Philippines and our ministry host, Ryan, ran in with his wife at night with their 20 day old baby- not breathing. I went into fight or flight mode and started resuscitation knowing that the nearest hospital was a couple of hours away. We are living up in the mountains far away from any kind of help. But after a couple of minutes the infant started breathing! Ryan was standing on the side, eyes wide open, praising God that his son started breathing. Call me a hero, but the one who determines our breath and heart beat is none of us. The hero of the story belongs to our Heavenly Father. I just got to be used as a tool and as a participant in a miracle. There was no code blue for help, but I had to believe that God would provide help. Faith will always save a life. It has never failed.
One of the locals, Rudee, always says, “That’s life.” It comes and goes, blink and the vapor is gone. Be quick to go and do what He has called you to. We don’t have that much time. Twenty four hours, months, a year, a decade, a century goes faster than you think. Even if code blue is available, no one has the ability to reverse your life.
In James 4v13-16 “Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil.’
You don’t know what tomorrow will bring. So what are you filling your time with? Because that is what will save or kill you. Your days are numbered, go make the most of it! Don’t store up treasures here on earth for the moth and rust will eat it away. Yes, YOLO when you can. Check off your bucket list. Your dreams and desires are given to you by the Father.
Building His kingdom will only take your breath away. It’s hard, sweet, beautiful, painful, AMAZING, rewarding. He’ll blow into your lungs His breath of life, and over fill your heart with love, leading to eternity with Him.
Know that God didn’t add another day in your life because you needed it; He added it because someone out there needs you.
