May people have asked WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS? After all, leaving a good job to go abroad is not the norm in today’s society. So, a little more about my journey getting to this point. Almost a year ago I got a call that my house was on fire…. In the end, I lost almost everything. My pet, photos, mementos, jewelry, clothes, all gone. It was an incredibly hard time, but also a time when God really provided for me and called me to walk in a closer relationship with Him. He convicted me about the path I was taking in life- my path with the job I chose in the place I chose. Since then I, my parents, and my friends/family have been praying about the new calling and direction He has called me too. Ultimately, about a month ago, I walked away from my job and my life in the Bay area and took a leap of faith to join the World Race. God has called me and I have answered. I’m incredibly excited (and a bit nervous) to see how He uses me going forward!
Interestingly enough, I’m leaving on the World Race almost exactly a year after the fire… God is good.
