Update time!  With only 4 days until training camp begins, I figured it’s about time for an update.  So much has happened over the last few weeks…  When I was in high school, I went to Mexico for a mission trip for two weeks.  We living in meager conditions with limited comforts, but we were warm, dry, and safe.  Over the last week, the reality of what I’m going to embark on has hit me.  I will be carrying everything I own on my back for 335 days.  We will be living in very very difficult conditions: outdoors, without running water, without AC or heat, etc…  What a sobering and fantastic thought!  I can’t wait to embark on this journey.

As for an update on where I am in preparation, I packed my backpack for the first time this week!  It was a hilarious exercise in ‘how do I jam this in?’.  It took 45 minutes to figure it out, but I have a feeling I’ll be a professional at this by the time I’m done!  (See photos for a picture of me with my new best friend!)  I have around 80% of the things I will need to bring with me, and I’m working on gathering the rest before I leave for camp.  I also got a new, world race haircut in light of the fact we will be spending months in high heat, high humidity situations!

For a funding update, my funding is currently at 14%, but I’ve met the very first World Race goal so I’m confirmed to keep moving forward.  The next deadline is a big one, so please keep me in your prayers.

Now on to practicing pitching my tent…

God bless!

Prayer Requests:

For God to prepare both my heart and body for the challenges and growth of training camp.  We will be camping and learning in rural Georgia.

For financial provision to meet the required deadlines and provision for the supplies I need to bring.
