I’m leaving on a jet plane…. Don’t know when I’ll be back again…..
These lines keep going through my head as I sit in a pile of my bags preparing to board the shuttle to the Atlanta airport. It’s T-minus 5 hours and 45 minutes to our flight to Guatemala. I can’t believe that this adventure, spending the next 11 months traveling the world to minister and help those in need, is about to begin. It’s been a crazy ride to get to this point, and I couldn’t have done it without all of y’all. Thank you.
I also wanted to post a few answers and make sure y’all have all the information to contact me. We have no idea what internet will be like, but God willing we can keep in touch! Sooooo….. on with the information….
What’s this about filming?
Our squad was chosen to be filmed for a documentary TV series! We’ve had the opportunity to get to know the film and production crew over the past week during our (intense) media training and I’m really excited to work with them and see what they do with all the materials filmed. As part of this, each team gets to bring a media bag into the field! That means me and my girls get to bring some pretty amazing filming equipment with us to capture our own footage and tell the stories of those we during missions work. Very exciting! I’ll be sharing some of our footage with you as we go and as I can!
How do I keep in touch?
Texting:
I will have wifi enabled devices with me. Please find me on what’sapp or viber! I will be searchable by my original cell phone number as I’ve linked it to this phone.
Email:
Feel free to email! I set up [email protected] just for this trip! I’m also reachable at [email protected]. Just please forgive times when it takes a while for me to get back, etc. I’ve heard email is slow to load and a bit harder to send at times.
Where are you going?
Our route changed again just a few days ago! We are now going to Guatemala, Nicaragua, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Nepal, Botswana, Swaziland, Ukraine, Albania. I’m incredibly excited to see all of these amazing countries and those we travel through to get in between them! (I hear rumors of a LONG bus ride through central America!)
Prayer Requests:
Please pray that we see the strength of God in ourselves and our teammates as we travel and are pushed outside our boundaries. Expanding the scope of your world is hard, and that’s exactly what I’m about to do.
Pray for health. We will be working in the mountains of Guatemala with the local community and the people from surrounding villages who travel there for help. Pray for our health and the healing of both ourselves and those around us.
Pray for funding. I am not fully funded yet. I’m so blessed that I’m at 56%, but I still need to raise $7,170, something that becomes increasingly difficult as I leave civilization and devote my time and effort to missions. Please pray for funding and support for all of my financial needs, and please prayerfully consider supporting me.
This journey is not possible without your support.
Love to you all, and God bless. I can’t wait to post from Guatemala!
