She walked out to the courtyard the morning we had squad worship. Curious about us she started interacting with Jen (my fellow teammate).

Next thing I saw was Jen and this lady walking to a door on the nearby a apartment building. I quickly got someone to run after her… And thus started our relationship with Cindy.

The next day was the English class at the university (previous blog). But that is not where this relationship stopped. The connection ran deep from our first encounter.

Sitting across the table from Cindy on our last lunch date we (Jen and I) were chatting about random English things when the Spirit moved. Out of seemingly nowhere I started talking about my relationship with Jesus.

Her questioning spirit jumped at the opportunity to ask deep questions about this Jesus.

“What happens when you ask Jesus into your heart?”

“When you say ‘hear from God’ what do you mean hear? Could I hear from God?”

“Is there a ceremony that comes with believing?”

As we were able to talk more it was amazing to us that the conversation just flowed so easily. When Cindy stood up to leave Jen and I stared at each other in astonishment. Did that really happen? God was moving and we just stepped up to make ourselves a willing vessel.

Leaving Cindy in Harbin was very hard because our connection is so deep already. Please continue to pray for Cindy and her whole family.

What ways has The Lord been nudging you to make yourself available lately? Who do you need to step into a deeper spiritual conversation with?
