I can’t remember an exact time when I went through growing pains.  But I definitely remember the process.  Luckily when you grow you don’t do it all at one time. You have to grow slowly because it wouldn’t be possible to grow all the way overnight.

When you come out as a little baby you are completely dependent on other people to do EVERYTHING for you.  Then you grow into a little toddler who decides there is some choice and independence in the world.  As you grow older you grow both physically and mentally into the full adult person you were made to be.

The World Race is like a concentration of your teenage growth spurts all in a row.  I don’t mean that I am going to come home and be 6′ 4″, but I will be 6′ 4″ in the spiritual realm.

If I told you that the World Race was easy I would be lying to you because it isn’t easy at all, and it is not meant to be.  As we walk this journey we find that in the growth we need to press into the pain instead of running to the things that make us comfortable.  It is in the pain and hard times that the Lord is growing us most.

The Race thus far for me has been fun, challenging, crazy, oh-my-gosh-is-this-real-life, fabulous, and hard all at the same time.  Some times I feel like I am on an emotional roller coaster but through it all I feel myself changing and growing.

So as I move froward and continue this journey the Lord has me on I am going to try to press in more and more to the hard things the Lord has for me because I am being refined in the fire and when Christ returns I will be ready to receive my fully glorified state.

My encouragement is to press into the hard and be open to growth.  No matter if you have been a Christian for 5 seconds or for 50 years there is growth and change the Lord wants you to walk into fully.  Be open and accepting of the different vessels that the Lord uses in the refining process, because they probably don’t look like what you were expecting.

Praise the Lord that He doesn’t expect us to grow overnight.

What are the areas that the Lord is challenging you in?
