His eyes were focused so intently on the whiz of cars going by on the street. In the moment totally enthralled by the simplicity of watching the cars go by one-by-one.

What if we could so easily find the simple things God gives us in the day to day?

The rising sun… The touch on the arm from a friend… The blowing wind…

Andree, is his name.

He had chosen and clung to me since the first moment I walked into the one year old room that morning. Because of this we got to be partners when we headed outside.  We started out our walk around the yard with me pushing him in the stroller. But after a few minutes I knew he was antsy for something new.

Even though his has troubles walking, he couldn’t wait to get going.  Walking with such passion that his torso would get ahead of his feet.

His joy was contagious!  Even though he was physically hindered, he didn’t let that bother him.

The more I hung around Andree the more my heart overflowed with love of him and love of God!

Next we headed over to the swing and giggled and giggled and giggled together.

After wearing him out a bit with walking and swinging, he kept saying “Beep Beep.” I couldn’t figure out what he wanted at first but then it hit me.  Through the gate you could see the street where the cars were whizzing by.

We headed over and just watched. Breathing, smiling, pointing.  Just being near to each other.

What if we interacted with The Lord like Andree interacted with me?

Charging forward as we walked holding on to the Lords hands…
Sharing our joy as we laugh through life with Him…
Just sitting and seeing the world near Him…

“And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me.” – Matthew 18:2-5
