Ministry: This
month we teamed with World Team to do outreach around Moldova. Every team was
solo this month. Yes, that mean it was just the four of us doing ministry. We
were located in Nisporeni, Moldova. We worked with a local pastor, Victor. We
did a variety of outreach throughout the month. The first week, we traveled to
a neighboring village each day to do a Christian after school program. We
played games, sang songs, gave a memory verse, did skits, and taught a Bible
lesson. Each night we helped with different activities at the church (bible
study, youth group, prayer meeting, etc). The second week we moved to another
village to partner with Natasha and Arcadie. We did another Christian after
school program and then each night we helped with the youth. The third week we
were back in Nisporeni. We went to the local schools in the morning. We would
mainly just talk with the students, but always bringing the conversation back
to the Lord (its crazy that you can freely talk about God in schools here)! At
night we continued helped with the church activities.

Home sweet home:
Every month our home looks a little different. This month we lived in our
contact’s “guest house”. What this really means is an extra room right next
door to his house. We were lucky enough to have an indoor toilet , beds, and running
water. We had a wood burning stove in our little cottage that would keep us
warm at night. We were blessed with a washer and would dry clothes outside when it wasn’t raining.

Food: You don’t
have to worry, we definitely did NOT go hungry this month. Natasha and Emilia
are amazing cooks. They both feed us incredible home cooked meals every day
that left my clothes fitting a lot tighter J
Our food options included: salads, potatoes (cooked every way possible), bread,
jam, fresh veggies, chicken, homemade juice, and many incredible Moldovan
original meals

Highlights:

1.
We took a day off to go into Chisinau to buy
train tickets. Four other teams took the same day off! We all met at the train
station and then adventured to Mall- Dova to send the rest of the afternoon. We
talked, ate, and did a lot of laughing. It was such a joy to be reunited with
squad mates half way through the month!!!

2.
Birthday Month- it’s hard to celebrate a
birthday away from home, but everyone made this one special. This will definitely
be a birthday to remember

3.
Easter Sunday started off with an appearance
from the Easter Bunny. I woke up to a handmade Easter basket full of chocolate.
Then we went to the church service where Roberto preached and the girls did a
special musical performance (yes, I sang in from of the whole church). Then
back to the house for an Easter feast.

4.
Easter Bar-B-Q: The day after Easter, the church
went to the forest to have a cookout. It was a beautiful day in Moldova- sunny
and warm. There were about 100 people that showed up. We played volley ball and
soccer, ate lots of food, talked with new friends, and even had quiet time in
my ENO Hammock. It was one of the best days in Moldova.

5.
Milking a cow: Our contact had his own cow (we
had fresh milk all month). The last day in Moldova, he let our team go to the
farm with him and each of us got to take turns milking a cow!
