Ministry looks a
little different everyday in Swaziland. We might have one thing planned, but
our schedule is likely to change due to divine appointments and what God has
planned. Saturday, May 14, a few people decided to take a trip to the local
clinic. Surprisingly there were not a lot of people there. As we walked down
the quiet hallways of the hospital, we looked in the rooms to see if anyone was
there. After striking out several times, we finally came across GoGo Sunday in
Ward #3. She came in with a stroke a week before. At this point she had not
improved and the doctors did not give her much hope. She had an IV, feeding
tubes, was not talking or even responsive to the people around, and hardly any
movement in her body. She lay there peacefully as we walked in the room. We immediately
went to her bed side and started praying for her.

At this point, I had
to make a decision- do I have faith and pray with authority that she can be
healed or do I sit in silence in the back of the room as my teammates pray over
her. I chose to step out in faith and pray with the authority that Christ has
given me for this lady.

The group continued
to go back to her room day after day. The prayers became more powerful and her
health began to improve. We would recite scripture to her, sing over her, and
let her know we loved her. God was working in her and the Holy Spirit was
moving through her each day. After two weeks of faithfulness, Go Go Sunday was
doing much better. She was no longer on the feeding tubes, she was moving her
feet, she was alert when we would come in, her eyes would look at us when we
were talking to her, and she even started making some noises.

The last day four of
us went back to Go Go Sunday and say our final good bye. While we were there,
we decided to sing a Swazi song that we learned that month (its translated “you
are faithful oh lord… every day and every hour… you are faithful oh lord). As
our praises were lifted to the Lord, Go Go started mouthing the Lord with us.
With tears in our eyes, we could tell the Lord was in that place.

God used Go Go Sunday
to change my life!
