Sorry for the delay in my Swazi post!  Internet, as usual here in Africa ;), is not easily accessable and super slow when we have it.  But at least we have it every once in a while 🙂  …..here you go!
Oh Swaziland how I love you! Ha…..seriously, Swazi has by far been one of my absolute favorite places we’ve had the opportunity to go to!!

While there we worked at different “care points” that helped to provide food to under-privileged kids.  At the care points we taught the kids Bible stories, songs, played games, and did arts and crafts with them. It was so much fun to see how the kids responded and be able to just love on them!

Most of the children we worked with and helped minister to were AIDS orphans. Meaning one or both parents have died from AIDS. Swaziland has the highest population of AIDS victims than any other country. Presently over 51% of the population there has AIDS.

While there we were able to build many relationships with the kids. One of the people I got closest to was a girl named Abigail. She is 15 years old and pregnant with her first child. As we got closer, I got to hear more and more of her story. She came to live where we were about 3 months before us. Pastor Gift (our contact there) and his family are helping to take care of her and 4 other boys (3 brothers and another boy named Clive).

I hope one day to return to Swaziland, at least for another short visit. The people there are amazing and so easy to get attached to. The ministry that Pastor Gift is doing there has impacted so many lives and it was incredible to be apart of!
