Hey everyone!! Soooooooo sorry that my communication has been so
lacking over the past couple weeks (or has it been a few now?? ….time
escapes me! ahhh)!! Our team has been traveling for about 2 weeks and
we finally reached our destination on Monday. We had to delay our
travels for about a week or so due to the politcal situation going on
in Honduras (not the safest place to travel right now). We were
taking a bus and needed to drive thru there…..so we waited it out for
about a week in Antigua, Guatemala doing some debrief and ministry
there. When we did eventually drive thru Honduras everything went just
fine.

Right now we are living on an island, Ometepe, that is off the coast of Nicaragua with team Azariah. It is so beautiful here! The island is basically 2 volcanoes with little towns surrounding them (its pretty small). A massive lake surrounds the island and I guess in the lake we have these lovely fresh water sharks……although we have yet to see one…..maybe soon? 😉
Our ministry work here has been at the local orphanage. We are also living at the orphanage – that has been such a blessing! We are doing a variety of things for them like yard work, helping in the kitchen, helping with the kids, and construction. I have been helping in the construction area so far. Right now we are helping them pave a driveway……we have all learned how to mix cement (and have also learned to appreciate cement trucks, haha). Its quite the process, but has actually been a lot of fun! We are all terribly sore and tired at the end of the day, but its worth it!
While in Antigua we had the opportunity to hike one of the volcanoes there! It was a 3 hour hike one way….one of the steapest hikes I think Ive ever done but SO worth it!! A lot of us have many cuts and bruises on our legs from the hike – one part was literally straight up….you pretty much made your own path trying to find stable ground and lift yourself up (the rocks constantly moved underneath your feet). Oh yeah, and the volcano was active….pretty freaky to see lava slowly flowing towards you….but mostly amazing! haha.
Lastly, I would like to update you quickly on my health. The cough turned out to be bronchitis but after a good week of antibiotics I got better!! THANKS for the prayers!!! Unfortunately, the last couple days for some reason my cough has started up a little bit again….but we are praying it disappears soon!! We also think I might have a parasite of some sorts but Im getting meds for that today…..praying it goes away soon as well….whatever it is!! Besides all that :), I feel just fine….I dont really feel like its hindering too much with ministry right now but it is annoying. Im just tired of being sick! BUT am VERY VERY happy I dont feel near as bad as I did a couple weeks ago!! 🙂

THANK YOU to those who have continued to financially support me!!! Ive said it a million times and will continue to, I could not do this without you all!!
***side note…..sorry for all the puntuation errors in this blog…..the keyboards here are quite different and I feel like Im learning to type all over again, haha…..none of us can figure out how to type all our punctuation marks on this thing….oh well :). ALSO….I really wanted to show you all some pics but for some reason the computer just isnt doing a good job at uploading them. So I will have to show you guys some later! Hopefully next week!
