The two biggest questions I receive revolve around two little words: what and why.
What’s the World Race? / What will you be doing? / You’re doing what, again?
The World Race is an 11-month mission trip to 11 countries around the world. Three times a year, in January, July, and September, five squads of 40-60 participants leave the U.S., each on a different route, ready to be the hands and feet of Jesus. My particular route will travel to Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, and Argentina. My team and I will spend a month in each country doing life with and serving in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in the mire of human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations. The World Race is also an intensive discipleship program that will deepen my faith as I learn to truly rely on Him for every thing and prepare me to passionately live out my Kingdom calling.
Why?
I answer with “why not?”
God has placed me in a season of single(again)ness, and while this season wasn’t in the plan I had for my life, it was in His, and it is good. (It’s taken me years to get here, but this season of my life really IS good.) So yeah, I’m single, I have no kids, I rent, and I work at a job that could be done by computers if the code would run correctly.
God has given me a heart for individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and children who are in desperate need of love. He’s also given me gifts of patience, compassion, and empathy and a desire to love as He has loved me.
Again I ask, “why not?”
As a believer, I am called to go and share the Gospel with all nations. (Mark 16:15)
I knocked, and this is the door God has opened, so I will step through it in faith.
