I am so excited that of all the blogs I am going to write on this journey this is my first blog from the field…

Portuguese is the official language of Mozambique, and Shangana is the local native tongue of where I’m currently staying.

“Thank you” in Portuguese is “obrigada” (“oh-bri-gah-da”) for female speakers or “obrigado” (“oh-bri-gah-doe”) for male speakers.

In Shangana, “thank you” is “khanimanbo” (“kha-knee-mon-bo”).

And just for fun, “thank you very much” in Afrikaans is “biae danke” (“buy-a-donkey”).

No matter how you choose to say it, I cannot express how thankful I am to all who have supported me in this step of faith. The fundraising process was challenging, and there were many times I wanted to quit because it was hard. I can remember sitting amongst my house church family talking about how much I was going to need for the World Race, and I was overwhelmed just thinking about how I was going to get $10,000 by Christmas! But by God’s provision, that amount was raised before Training Camp in October, and here I am – one week into my Race  and I’ll be FULLY FUNDED once this month’s monthly donations are processed!!!

From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for allowing me to experience the blessing of this feeling! The many forms of your support are encouraging!
