Month 9 began with team changes and a 51-hour bus ride from Ecuador to Peru. Now that I’ve recovered from the journey, allow me to introduce to you “Desperados!”

I. LOVE. THIS. TEAM!
(I may be a little biased because 5 out of the 7 of us have ties to Ohio. 😉 )
But honestly, this team is awesome. We’ve all walked through some hard stuff so far on the Race, and some of us have wanted to go home at times, but we’ve trusted God and stayed. We’ve seen His goodness, and we are all bought in to serving God where we are with what we have. We are bought in to encouraging and challenging each other, so we may grow in Christ’s likeness.

“Desperados” translates to “The Desperate Ones,” and we chose this name because we, both individually and collectively, want to be desperate for God; we want an insatiable desire for Him in our lives. We also want to serve the desperate ones, the ones who are overlooked in society, and share the love of Christ with them through word and deed.

[Added Bonus: this name also provided a pretty sweet theme song.]

Please be praying for our team as we finish out the Race together. Pray for continued hunger and growth in our relationships with Christ, for vulnerability with one another, and for unity, endurance, and good health.
