Hello there!
My name is Kristin Nichols (I go by Kristi) and I am happy to say I am excited to be a world racer. I am currently working as a Animal Technician at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I have a degree in Biology from Eastern Michigan University and have a passion for animals. At the beginning of this year I went to South Africa for 3 months. It was an AWESOME experience where I met some AMAZING people. I got to tour Europe because of the people I met in Africa, for 3 whole weeks at the end of the volunteer programs I participated in. The volunteer projects included working on a Great White Shark diving boat and working at SANCCOB saving sick and injured sea birds, mostly being penguins.
I come from an awesome, supportive family. My mom is my biggest fan and I definitely owe a lot to her. She rooted me in my faith and pushes me to grow in that faith. I never thought she would be okay with me doing something like the World Race but she is actually very excited about it.
My faith is very important to me, and sharing it, a passion. I seem to be so bogged down lately with the many distractions that surround me. It is so easy somedays to spend time doing something other then cultivating my relationship with the one who created me. As completely scared as I am of doing this 11 countries in 11 months – minimalistically, it is something I am feeling I am being challenged by God to do. To step outside my comfort zone… no wait, LEAP so far outside of it I can't even see it anymore. Not only do I know it will change me, my world and my perception, but I know it will touch those around me as well.
Well, this is a little bit about me….
Thanks for reading,
Kristi
