What would happen if we actually lived out what was said in the bible?
What if we actually cared for the orphans, widows, and the sick?
What if we hung out with the people everyone else thought were unimportant?
What if we really fed the hungry and clothed the naked?
What if we actually made disciples of the nations and baptized them?
People would notice. People do notice. This month in India, God has been showing me the impact of living out my faith. Everywhere my team goes we cause a scene. We worship on the roof of our apartment building and our neighbor who is an idol maker comes out to see what we are doing. We take the kids who have special needs from Sarah’s Covenant Home to the beach and a crowd gathers. We pray for 2 hours for a woman who is demon possessed and the church fills with people.
As Christians, we are called to live out our faith. We can’t just talk the talk; we have to walk the walk. By living out God’s word, we are given countless opportunities to share our faith. When a crowd gathers and asks why we are doing what we are doing we can answer ‘Jesus’.
James 1:22 says “Do not merely listen to the words, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
I want to live my life according to God’s word. I want to read his word and do what is says. I want to live my life in a way that makes people ask ‘why’. What is God calling you to do next? What verse in His word is He calling you to live out today? How do you want to live your life?
