As we 2017 came to an end and we entered into 2018 I prayed about a theme that the Lord would have for me in the new year. He simply whispered to me, “Communion.”
I prayed more of what this looked like and began reflecting. I realized that we had team changes in the new year, being in a new community will challenge me to look more like Him, I will continue to meet new people on the race, but also say goodbye to them, and what communion will look like when I return home later this summer. I will continue to pray about what this looks like in each season.
Instead of focusing on what I usually take away from my year I love that this year I will be adding this theme, communion. As the first season has come I would love to introduce you to my new team on the World Race;
Meet Team Mirador
Where did Mirador come from?
Our team leader, Melissa, had a vision of a Lighthouse so we wanted something similar to it that would reflect what our team was. Mirador is a Lighthouse made up of mirrors and that the light reflects off of those mirrors in order for other to see it. That is exactly what we want to be as we are individuals that make up a team to reflect His light and love to those all around us.
Me too, Sister. We love this idea for our “motto” or #hashtag as a team. This comes with knowing that we will pray for each other, we will fight for one another, that we can understand what others are going through, and that we can be a safe haven for one another.
I’m blessed to have the opportunity to do life and live in community with these sisters of mine. Anxious for what the Lord has in store for us as we finish the last half of our race. This month we are located in Mandalay, Myanmar and working with a church to teach English to the members and university students of the community.
Much love!
P.S. the day we found out our new teams in Thailand we got to go on a scavenger hunt together. Follow the link to see what fun we had around the city of Chiang Mai! 🙂
