Day 4-7
Sorry it’s been a while, but processing has been slow. Being without glasses for a week then all the sudden you can see is a lot to take in. The ending theme for this fast has always been crystal clear though. Eye of the storm. So, in a storm there is a center where all is calm. It is a roughly circular area that is surrounded by towering thunderstorms where the most severe weather and strongest winds are found. This is what I’ve learned… God is in that eye. Like a circle he is never ending and where he is, though chaos thunders and swirls around, there is calm. When you can’t see it feels chaotic. I know that is how I felt. I tripped more than usual, I ran into stuff, had a constant headache, having a good attitude was hard. But, as the fast continued I saw the beauty of dependance; how God was and is there helping me along. The future is like a storm. Uncertainty and mystery abound but when you choose the Lord calm and peace surround you. That’s how I understand it. I do my best to find the eye everyday and rest in the center. I pray that I never forget the lessons I learned nor loss sight of what it looks like to follow Jesus despite the storm.
Obedience, though not always easy, is worth every second. The reward of seeking after God is not always instant but I was blessed with the gift of sight at the perfect moment.
