Training camp was a whirlwind. So much information in a little over a week. But my big take away in as few words as possible was… “Bring what ya got cause that’s what God gave you”. Don’t try to be someone else or want their relationship with the Lord. You have your own relationship with God and He has a path set for you. When you try to be someone else you neglect your own role in the kingdom of Heaven. That was what resinated with me.
Interesting things happen when you camp with 11 people you’ve never met before, lots of bonding. One example of this is the second day of camp it was time to retire for the day. My tent had been invaded by ants. Just the rain cover but still freaky. My whole squad helped me shake off the ants and moved my entire tent, without taking it down, to the opposite side of camp, in the dark and in the mud. I slept so well knowing there were no ants in or on my tent. Point is my squad didn’t let me suffer they gave up precious sleep time for me.
I’ll post pt 3 of training camp tomorrow.
