To take a statement with ‘a grain of salt’ is an idiom that means to view something with skepticism or not to interpret something literally.
Not everything is of the Lord, even when spoken by believers. There’s a beautiful gift called decrement.
Discernment: (in Christian contexts) perception in the absence of judgement with a view to obtaining spiritual guidance and understanding.
The point of this is to acknowledge that everything that is said to you, doesn’t matter who it is, ALWAYS take it to the Lord. He gave us the Holy Spirit, he gave us discernment to use it and grow in it. When you hear something that doesn’t sit right with you, that makes you feel a little gross or sick… that is discernment. Listen to it…
