Faith is one of the simplest yet the hardest thing to do. The definition of faith is to have complete trust and confidence in someone or something. In Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now have faith in the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” and if you continue to verse 6, “and without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those that seek him”. There are several examples of faith in the Bible, of ordinary people that God chose to do extraordinary things:

Abraham in Genesis 12: God told him to leave his country and family and go to a place that he had never been. Abraham got up and did as God asked… and later on in chapter 22 God tells him to take his only son and sacrifice him. So Abraham did as God asked. He had faith that God would keep his promise and held nothing back.

Moses in Exodus 3-12: Had faith that God would deliver the Jews from slavery and lead them out of Egypt.

Peter in Matthew 14:22-33: Peter got out of the boat during the storm and walked on water toward Jesus.

This is the attitude I have decided to have. To put complete faith in God even though everything looks impossible. In Romans 8:28 it says, “And we know that those who love God in all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose”. A prime example of this is money. I need $10,000 by December 13th, and a grand total of $19,200, have yet to reach that goal. It’s a stressful topic and I have no idea where I am going to get that kind of money in 2 weeks… but I was reminded of God’s goodness and love for me. Matthew 6:25-26,33-34 says’ “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will where. Is not life more than clothing? (v26) Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?… (v33) But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (v34) Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is it’s own trouble.”

This is the kind of faith I am striving for… I want to walk on water all eyes on Jesus. I want to go to a new country and share God’s love. I have faith that these thing will happen.
