Hey friends and family 🙂

So as we head to and from ministry, we pass the same houses with the same children.

It’s my favorite part of the day. The kids come running from all corners to greet you with a big hug. It’s like they waited all day for this moment. (I have many videos of this to share)

I open my arms as they come running with joy and big smiles on their faces. I wrap my arms around them, squeeze them a bit and give them a kiss on their heads.

Then we talk to each other not understanding anything the other says but still able to laugh and just enjoy the time.

They love just observing everything we have on us that day…watches, bracelets, purse, phone, water bottle and even our tattoos and hair. They are so intrigued. And I enjoy just being there and loving them any way I can.

One time I was walking back and this little boy wanted to hold my water bottle. I let him hold it and he just opens the lid and starts drinking from it.

I should have tried to stop him from putting his mouth on it because, to be honest, that’s an easy way to get sick but in that moment I didn’t care. He needed fresh water and I was more than happy to share. I decided to then share with all the kids around.

Since then, every time I pass them or spend time with them, I always give them some water. It’s honestly the least I could do.

Sometimes showing others you love them is sharing your water or even the last couple of cookies you have.

It’s sharing the popcorn you just made with the neighbors and not taking a nap during break because there are kiddos waiting for you to play.

Sometimes you have to let go of any boundaries you have to allow people to feel loved.

Even if that means holding a child that has been wearing the same dirty clothes since you met them and has peed in them a few times.

Even if that means holding a kids hand that has been used to wipe their runny nose and dig through who knows what

Even if that means hugging someone or putting your hands on someone to pray for them even if they may not smell the best, may be sick or “too dirty”.

Even if that means being surrounded by tons of kids, in the hot sun, not able to really move or breathe well-but you Dance and Sing anyway.

I am actually in there somewhere 🙂

To me, love has no boundaries.

We showed up to the medical clinic and as everyone waited to be told what to do I decided to go around to everyone and hug them and/or shake their hands.

Tyler, a squad mate of mine, says after “Kristen you would be the one that is around people with Ebola and still goes around to hug them because you can’t contain yourself.” (Weirdest but best compliment)

Don’t worry! I understand there are times you have to actually take precaution like a fatal virus that spreads easily but that will be the only thing that actually stops me.

I will admit, I wander a lot. Any site of a human I have to go over and say hi even if it is totally out of the way. But isn’t that what this is all about?

God has given me the gift of compassion and loving others….Being on the Race I have noticed this more and more. I love these people with all my heart and they truly bring me so much joy. I literally cannot contain myself sometimes.

And honestly the love they show me is so much greater than anything I could explain <3

1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. <3

Thank you for joining me on this amazing, wonderful journey God has me on.
