Hi everyone!

Disclaimer: First time blogger so…please give me grace throughout this whole writing thing!

A little about me:

I graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in May with a degree in Marine Science. My post-grad travel plans had changed and I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to do. I actually still don’t know what I want to do (as far as a career goes). I’m actually fine with that though…even if society isn’t. I’ve just been in a season of waiting, which I haven’t really enjoyed, but I’ve learned the importance of it. God has definitely reminded me time and time again that His promises are ALWAYS yes and amen. AND NOW…I’m writing my first (very messy) blog about how I’m about to travel for 11 months to 11 countries for the sake of sharing the Gospel with people all across the world!

After graduating college in May many people, including friends and family, have constantly asked where I am applying for jobs, what do I want to do, etc. Although this is a fair question when you graduate, it is my LEAST FAVORITE (emphasis on least favorite). Before my senior year of college started, I knew I wanted to get my degree in environmental science rather than marine science. I wanted (and still have a desire to) join the Peace Corp, where I would be able to work in areas to promote food and nutrition security, sustainable livelihoods, increased resilience and cultural communication. Working among communities and with people in areas of need has always been something that I have wanted to do. I love the environment and I love helping and serving with others, which I guess has brought me to now talking about this next journey I have been graciously given by God.

After becoming involved in my college ministry and within Summit Church, I prayed a lot about God giving me an open heart and mind to what He has planned for me and not what I have planned for myself. What I want to do in the future has changed, but only because God has shown me that He has so much more for my life.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

The WORLD RACE is an 11 country, 11 month mission trip to share the love of Jesus and serve others around the world. For 11 whole months I am going to be living among different cultures and communities. This upcoming October 2019, I will be traveling to and living in Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Benin, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, India, Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines. What I do in each country and the ministry we do will vary. My team and I will be serving in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel. Everyday will be different and could include: evangelism outreach, praying for the sick at hospitals, VBS, shopping for groceries, visiting and working in orphanages, or just spending time with the community I’ll be walking through.

Of course I cannot do this alone and I would love your support in any way possible! If you feel led to donate a tax-deductible payment, there is a donate button at the top of the page. If you are unable to support me financially, I would appreciate prayer (and lots of it) throughout these next couple of years. Prayers for my family and myself as I prepare for this next journey, prayers for my team who is also preparing for this journey, and prayers for those that we will encounter along the way. God is always doing great and crazy things in this life and I am so excited for y’all to be apart of this with me.

 Until all have heard,

Kristen
