Two more months on the field. Just a mere 52 days. You would think that would mean less significant changes… that’s what I thought at least. I was so sure I would be finishing out the race with JUBILEE, but God and our leadership had other plans.

We changed teams!

Leadership presented this change to us at the beginning of last month and invited us to be more fully involved with the process this time around. Usually they pray and place us and we just have to adapt, but this time they asked for our input. As a way of helping us start to transition back to life in the States they gave us a little bit of autonomy.

We were instructed to pray for four names from our whole squad. Two people we would like to learn from (and what we would like to learn), and two people that we would like to teach (and how we might do that). We submitted the names and our reasoning behind each one and let them do the work from there. Earlier this week our new teams were revealed to us! Alex Banks

Daniel Best

Andrea Gonzalez Vargas (Again!)

Caleigh Schuur

Andy & Madi Elkins

This group plus myself make up Lil’ Seizers. Sort of like the pizza place, but mostly like “seize the day.” As we sat down together for the first time we started talking about what exactly we wanted to get out of these last two months and our short time together and we were all pretty much on the same page. It feels like pretty immediate evidence that the Lord ordained this team. Andy said that he was wanting to work hard and finish the race well, Caleigh shared that the Lord has given her the word “focus” in the sense of focusing on the time we have presently, and a few weeks prior the Lord gave me the words “with endurance.” Others on the team were in agreement that they wanted to get their hands dirty and do good ministry rather than check out with the time we have left. We spent some time trying to pare all these thoughts down into a team name and got Lil’ Seizers.

I think the name is a perfect balance between the obvious sense of humor that we share and the ways that we want to grab ahold of all that Christ has for us in these last few days of the World Race. Although I may be tired, and although I may be ready for the US, the Father called me on an 11 month journey for 11 months… not 8, 9, or 10. Shocking, right? I am so excited to keep learning and growing with these amazing people and I am even more excited to keep sharing it all with you!

As with both of my previous teams I want to encourage you to go follow my teammates blogs! This will be the best way to get the fullest picture of our ministry and our time together. You can head to their blogs by clicking their pictures to the left of this post.

Thank you for your continued support, see you in 52 days! 🙂
