Many times, life comes down to faith.
Faith that God knows what He's doing.
Faith that He's going to come through on His promises.
Faith that He's in control, so we don't have to worry.
But what happens when we lose sight of that faith?
the answer: everything spins out of control. Nothing seems to go together, nothing works right. and we're just in a mess of chaos, looking for something to hold onto while we spin.
One of the songs I was listening to this morning has a line in it that simply says, "don't lose sight of what you're here for." In the times where our faith is lacking, we're losing a grip on what life is about. We sit and try to figure out why something is happening the way it is, and we can't. We can't see anything beyond our immediate- not the future, not what's happening 20 miles away to someone we don't know- but God can. Because He can see that, He can see how all things can work together. In us not having that ability, it simply comes down to our faith. Faith in a God that is much bigger than us, a Being who is limitless.
The simple reality is that we are not here for very long. Our life is a short time, and eventually we're gone. A few generations after we're gone, there's a good chance no one will know who we were or that we ever walked the earth. But God knows. He knows exactly what He wants to do with our days, what He wants to use us for and who He wants us to be around to show love. Because He knows, we have to have the faith to trust that He's got a plan to make all things work for good.
We have to see life through His eyes, not our own. That's when our faith gets stronger.
