Psalm 77:14  You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.

This past week I got the chance to take part in an amazing miracle.

Our friend Apiwe, one of the leading women of influence in Malcolm’s after school ministry in the townships was sick with tonsillitis.  The illness was keeping her from joining us.  As a leader amongst her peers, many of the kids were not showing up as well.

Wednesday afternoon after our program Malcolm suggested that we walk to her house and pray for healing over her.  I thought 'Ok sure, she will get better eventually.'  Never did I think that "eventually" was actually going to be that night.

Walking down the dirt road, stepping over loose chunks of cement, shading our eyes from bright African sun, we came up to her door to be greeted by her loving sister cleaning up from that afternoon’s lunch.  Stepping into the house we quickly noticed Apiwe huddled by the fireplace with a blanket wrapped around her.  My friend Amanda called out jokingly, “O girl you look awful.  You dying on us?’  She has a way of lightening really dark situations with some humor.  Apiwe smiled but was unable to respond.  The sickness had completely settled in her throat.

We gathered around her and said a quick prayer asking the Lord IN FAITH to completely heal our sister through the power of his Holy Spirit.  After we prayed we said our goodbyes and set out on our way home not realizing the miracle that was taking place.

That Friday when we returned Apiwe was back at ministry!  Running toward us with such a joyful smile she ambush hugged us.  We immediately asked, “Are you feeling better?” She said, “Yes.” “Like all better?”  “Yes 100%!”  She began to tell us that she was heeled the night that we prayed for her.  As we left her house, she felt the sickness leave her throat and follow out the door with us.  Before bed she cooled her throat with some frozen yogurt that Malcolm gifted her with and the very next morning when she woke up she was 100% healed.

AMAZING!  We all thanked Jesus and rejoiced together!  This miracle has boosted all of our faith.  The Lord did an amazing thing that day in all of our lives.  We have been so grateful.

Since then I have had the chance to pray for 3 others that have been sick.  Please pray for us to continually pray with a posture of faith.  GOD IS ON THE MOVE.  WE JUST NEED TO BELIEVE.

James 1:6-7   “But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.  That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord;”
