Home Sweet Home.

This past weekend I moved into a new place. I moved out of the safe house in October and have felt a bit like a homeless wanderer as I bounced around from one friends’ house to another to another. But now, I have a new place. It took a whole day, but I have settled in and it feels like home and I am so grateful for the time I will have in this house and the space and breathing room for my soul that is provides. It is truly a HUGE blessing and answer to prayer.
Front door.
Welcome to my Cambodian Crib
kitchen.
Living room looking from the front of the house towards the back.
the living room looking from the back, towards the front of the house.
Bathroom. Somehow the rest of the house has nice earthy tiles while the bathroom is like BAM!!
Also, the kitchen has amazing high countertops for my giant self, but the sink in the bathroom was made for . . . not me.
my sanctuary.
my creative space.
notes and loved ones inspire my creativity. desk top collage.
beauty. inspire. write. love. dream. create.
My back porch where conversation and cuppas will happen.
the extended back porch where I hang my laundry and behind that a pond with lotus flowers.
The most beautiful part of the house; Ma Yiya (Grandma). She actually lives in the house in front of mine and her granddaughters are my landlords. She is 90 years old and they say, the oldest Christian in Cambodia. She has believed on our Lord Jesus Christ for 70 years now. Her mind is starting to go, so most days we have the same conversations, but sometimes she will surprise me with a new story.
Today she was in front of my house, so I invited her in and made her a cuppa tea. I asked what province she was from and she began talking about before Pol Pot they lived in the province, but after the time of Pol Pot they moved to Phnom Penh. She is a deep well of stories and memories, life lived for Christ, hardship and good times, blessings and faithfulness. She is truly, I believe, one of God’s most beloved and beautiful daughters.
A real treasure.
