THE CLEANSE:

Basically for 10 days you drink 6-12 8oz lemonade concoctions made from all organic products: lemons, maple syrup, cayenne pepper (optional, i do not use it) and purified drinking water. Then once a day you do a salt water flush (THE MOST VILE THING I HAVE EVER DONE!) It initiates my gag reflex every time! thankfully I have not vomited.
about an hour after drinking the 1L of all natural, uniodized sea salt and purified H2O mixture . . . . you . . . . well, let’s just say, “SUCCESS!”
Day 1 Journal . . .
930 am: The salt water flush was WORSE than I was anticipating! The last 5 big gulps were each accompanied by a non-productive gag! SICK! this could just be the death of me! . . . I have 9 more of these things?! Sick, salty after-taste. I need to brush my teeth STAT!
1030: SUCCESS!
end of the day: overall today was good. I have a mild headache, but I am going to sleep it off. over all I feel good. My stomach feels better already. Every time I have felt hungry today, I have had the lemonade and it has cut the hunger. I am also surprised by how much I like the taste of it, which is encouraging after sucking down that nasty salt water! Doing that 9 more times will require some serious mind over matter!
Day 2 Journal . . .
Today I am feeling even better than yesterday. I woke up early after a great solid 8 hours of sleep and was completely productive! I spent time with Jesus, we talked over a few things, prayed for some people, read the good Word and I didn’t fall asleep on him once! My mind felt clear and I felt able to focus. After that, I began doing some light core work, yoga, and stretching. After my blood started flowing and I worked up a little bit of a sweat I made my first lemonade. I still enjoy it.
My day started with a PALS (pediatric advanced life support) class. I was a little nervous going into it. I am horrible when it comes to a lecture setting. (I tend to fall asleep!) and I was wondering if the lemonade would give me enough glucose to allow me to stay awake and think straight. But I was really surprised. It completely held me. I made one glass during a break and was good to go the rest of the time! The headaches are gone; I am not feeling any lethargy nor hunger.
Now I am just sippin’ on a naturally de-caffinated herbal tea with a spoonful of maple syrup added. (the only “cheat” allowed outside of the lemonade drinks) and I am just looking forward to the low key-ness of the rest of my day!
