Albania was an interesting month for me.

As I mentioned before, my team and I were working at a Christian Private School called Lezhe Academic Center. During this month, my squad participated in “Manistry” which means that all the fellas of our squad became one team. As you may remember, my team had three men and so me and my two other female teammates were placed on a new, temporary team.

Meet Team Ekip:

(Ekip means ‘team’ in Albanian.)

Our task at LAC was to bring lift to the teachers and students by way of tutoring and offering any other assistance. Every day I’d wake up and join the first and second block of English class. At first, I was hesitant. These 10th graders would stare and be very distracted from their studies by me.

Eventually, I grew to love them. One week, their teacher, Ms. B, (who is also from AZ!) lost her voice and had me teach her class.

After this interaction with the students, I realized I was starting to become quite attached.

One of the highlights from Albania was getting to join the students for their Thanksgiving Dance something very similar to what we call Prom.

And so Team Ekip got all fancied up…. And went to prom.

When I went to high school, I never went to prom. Technically, I had my first ever prom in Albania.

Also, since the school was closed for Thanksgiving, my team and I decided to go on a short holiday trip up to Montenegro.

We celebrated and had Thanksgiving dinner in a restaurant in Kotor, Montenegro.

Montenegro is a breath-taking place! I highly recommend a visit!

This was the main parts of Albania!

After Albania, I returned to my original team and we then went to Thessaloniki, Greece.

Thank you so much for all your prayers and support!
