I’m Kristen and I am 24-year-old Arizonian who loves Jesus. I currently reside in Queen Creek, Arizona where the temperature is sweaty-hot in summer and shivery-cold in winter. We get very little rain and whenever wet stuff does fall from the sky, we get confused and either forget how to drive or go dance in the rain. Despite the weather and scorpions(who thought they could take up residence in bathroom this year…AHHH!!) I like it here. It’s cozy and the right place to grow up.
Since before I can remember, I have always been surrounded by my two best friends, who happen to also be my sisters. We’d do all kinds of weird things together and it didn’t matter that we ran around with unbrushed hair and oversized t-shirts that covered our shorts(oh, 90’s fashion…), just being together was an adventure in itself. My parents are amazing, hard working people that have servant hearts and would prefer that I live at home until I’m fifty.
I work as an infant teacher in a local preschool and go to school part-time. I am studying to become a teacher and my tentative goal is to work as a music teacher in an elementary school. No matter what, though, I want to want what God wants for my life, which is why I’m walking in faith toward the World Race.
I felt God calling me towards this journey for a while and, like Gideon, I laid out one fleece after the another, again and again and God, being His faithful self, kept confirming that this was what He was calling me to do.
So here I sit, typing out an “About Me” bio for a blog that I will be writing while traveling for 11 months, leaving my family, friends, church community and bearded dragon named Peter behind while I walk in faith. Whoa! That sounds crazy-amazing, doesn’t it?
Will you join me as I get out of the boat and walk with Jesus in faith?
