DRUM ROLL PLEASE….the time has come for a very special announcement. As many of you know, my week at training camp was quite an interesting one. After some pretty intense and creative days of team building activities, an announcement was made as the 54 of us were divided up into 8 smaller teams of 6-7 people. These teams will travel from each location together, eat together, serve together….pretty much do EVERYTHING together over the next year. So, I have the privilege of introducing you all to the 6 amazing women whom I will be spending 11 months traveling the world with! Buckle your seatbelts; they’re an entertaining, unique, and remarkable group of women.
I would love to introduce them to all of you so that you can keep up with their blogs, pray for them, and possibly support them as we embark on this journey together.
This is Miss Kara Frate!!!! Kara is a Southern Girl from McGregor, Texas. I’m guaranteed not to lose my accent with her around ☺ She is actually the baby of the entire squad, which of course makes her extra special ;). She may be young, but she is RICH in passion, zeal, and fire for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She will flourish this year as she is empowered by the Holy Spirit and radiates His light amongst the nations. SHINE ON baby girl!
This is Miss Ashley Harris!!!! Ashley is a Virginia Girl who absolutely loves her little niece. I’m not sure which is more amazing: Ashley’s calming demeanor or her ability to listen and encourage. She speaks truth. It’s that simple. She’s an amazing dancer, singer, GO BUCK instructor…the list goes on. This year Ashley will share the love and complete acceptance that she has found solely in Christ to God’s people everywhere. Let’s go love His people, shall we?!?
This is Miss Katie Sullivan!!!! Katie is our West Coaster from the lovely state of Washington. Baffled by boiled peanuts, Katie’s laughter is contagious and her ability to warm a room affirms anyone’s question about where her joy comes from. She is a radiant and refreshingly honest daughter of the King. Her willingness to be stretched this year is an example to all of us and I’m so anxious to walk along side her on this journey. LET’S RADIATE SULLI!!!!
This is Miss Shannon Higgins!!!! Shannon is our Floridian! She has a heart for teenagers and a desire for them to know and love the same Savior she does. She also knows a little something about counseling (which will be helpful next year if I lose my mind!) Shannon is an encourager who is quick to give a kind word. What an asset she will be next year for Team B.L.I.N.G. ☺ We’re all guaranteed to learn a lot from sweet Shannon. Let’s go teach the youth about Him.
This is Miss Liz Froba!!!! Liz is our Team Leader and New Jersey native who is currently residing in Charlotte, North Carolina! Liz knew she’d love me the first day of training when she came back to her bunk and my stuff was ALL OVER it. Liz keeps me honest. Liz keeps me punctual. And most importantly, Liz holds me accountable. She is an amazing leader with an insatiable desire to obey Her Heavenly Father. She definitely possesses all of the skills needed to lead this team on to big things next year! LEAD ON Girl!!!
This is Miss Blair Brendle!!! Blair is my fellow Alabamian who currently lives in Clemson, SC. She’s amazingly diverse as she can dribble a ball and knock you sideways with her wicked dance moves all at the same time. Blair’s magnetic personality and optimism are encouraging to anyone lucky enough to be near her. She’s gifted in seeing those around her with a Christ-like mindset and continually reminds me to love like He loved. Let’s GO BUCK for our King?!? U in?
