Gear Update!
This weekend I spent several joyful hours with my friend Bre at REI in absolute heaven! I purchased some of the biggest and most important gear I will need for the Race and cannot be more thrilled as leaving in September continues to become more real. I purchased my pack, tent, tent footprint, sleeping pad, and sleeping bag! Bre and I spent time laughing as I walked around the store with a weighted down pack to test the comfort and overall liking, as we attempted to find the perfect sleeping bag, as we pitched a tent just as an employee came over with a family to show them tents (and we were in their way), and as we dreamed of purchasing glorious amounts of unnecessary but much wanted gear!

Last night, out of pure excitement, I pitched my tent in my bedroom and slept in it with my new sleeping bag. [The sleeping pad has to spend the first 24 hours self inflating before you can use the quick hand pump, according to the instructions]. I read my kindle by headlight before falling asleep. And it was pure perfection.
