So Much has happened in the last week.

New Team
New Country
New Ministry

Vietnam was a bitter sweet month with obstacles all over the place. We were told to not give details about our ministry site and what we were doing (so I apologize if you felt left in the dark!) Last month in Vietnam there were 3 teams in Ho Chi Minh City all living in the same hotel. We had lots of opportunities to thrive in community and pour into each other as we tried to navigate a dark and dynamic city.

I had an AMAZING Birthday thanks to my wonderful teammates and squadmates. They surprised me on the day before my birthday in a cafe that plays movies. I had a feeling something was up but was still shocked when I walked in with our contact to see them all there ready to celebrate. But the real surprise came when I realized they had arranged for my favorite movie (My Big Fat Greek Wedding)to be played on the big screen!

Then the next morning they prepared a delicious pancake breakfast with peanut butter, bananas, syrup, and M&Ms for toppings. We all groaned in pain after stuffing our bellies!

We spent Thanksgiving morning together on the boiling rooftop of our hotel praying and praising God together. It was a sad morning for many of us, but we quickly ushered in the presence of the Holy Spirit and rested on His promises to love us through it all.

That evening my team and another team left for a camping trip in the mountains. It was better than anything I could have imagined! We left on a sleeper bus at midnight (a coach size bus with rows of “sleeper-style” seats, they are a fun challenge) and arrived in Dalat at 6 am the next morning. We were welcomed with a great big hug from Jesus in the form of cool crisp air and a blue clear sky. We had an amazing weekend together eating peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, climbing up and around waterfalls, and hiking 6k up the mountain to sleep on a cliff.

 (Team Koliah)

It was a beautiful ending to the first season of the World Race. We all knew team changes were coming at the end of the month and we tried to soak up every last moment we could as team Koliah. When we returned to Ho Chi Minh City the entire squad was there and we knew the change was coming sooner. We traveled together as K squad to Phnom Penh, Cambodia and on our second night were put on new teams. It was a hard transition and we are all suffering through the growing pains, but I am excited for what God has for me in this next season.

My new team (Name: Kingdom Heirs) Left Phnom Penh on a 7 hour bus ride to Siem Reap. We will be serving in an English Centre teaching english, computer skills, and sewing skills to the children in the village. I am so excited to finally be out of the city, sleeping to the sound of the resident bugs and waking to the roosters crow. We do not have internet access in our cottage so I will be spending more time with Jesus and less time on facebook.

I was also appointed as the team treasurer. I am honored with the responsibility to care for our budget and would LOVE your prayers in this area. If anyone wants to send me a Dave Ramsey book that would be great 😉

Thank you so much for all of your love and prayers. I can certainly feel the power of your prayers and pray God blesses you richly this Christmas!

Peace & Blessings,

KC
