Now for the nitty gritty:
I was born on November 21, 1989 at Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, California where my father was stationed as a pilot. I casually refer to myself as an "Airforce brat", well I have until recently when my father retired after 24 years. I was raised in a home filled with God's love and grew up going to sunday school, Awanas, vacation bible school, summer camp, etc. etc. I gave my life to christ when I was 6 years old because my 2 older brothers were getting baptized and well I wanted to go swimming too. My parents sat me down in the living room to make sure I knew what I was asking and I passed the test! I got baptized the same day as my 2 big brothers and that was pretty cool in my book. Growing up as an Air Force brat required moving around the country every few years. This never bothered me until I reached middle school and it got more painful to leave friends and less exciting to be the "new kid" at school. My faith wavered through out my teenage years as I sought fullfillment in things of this world, rather than in my Heavenly Father. I was still attending church with my parents but not really listening to what the preacher had to say. by the time I reached the age of 19 I was really living for the world and occasionally acknowledging Jesus in my life. In the fall of my freshman year of college I was kicked out of an organization for underage drinking. This organization had become my life and getting kicked out was a huge dissapoinment. It was at that moment that I realized my entire focus in life had been on my success in this organization, rather than my relationship with Jesus Christ. I remember sitting in church one Sunday and seeing a flyer for a summer mission trip to South Africa, I heard God's voice say "GO". I signed up that day for that mission trip and God quickly provided the funds for me to go. That first trip in July of 2009 to Johannesburg, South Africa radically changed my life for God's Glory. He wrecked everything within me until the only thing left was a hopeless child of God clinging to his LOVE… Im broken, yet perfectly sewn.
I once tried to fulfill my hearts' desires with the things of this world, I now live and breathe for my gracious Savior Christ Jesus!
