I wanted to post my support letter on the blog for people who didn’t get it in the mail- it gives a little more details about my heart for this trip!
Dear Family and Friends,
I am writing this letter to share with you an exciting opportunity that God has opened up for me. I was recently accepted to go on an 11-month mission trip called the World Race. The World Race is part of Adventures in Missions, an interdenominational missions organization that has sent over 100,000 people into the mission field since 1989. The World Race is one of their trips, specifically for young adults to travel to 11 countries in 11 months. I will be leaving in October, 2018 to travel to the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Lesotho, Swaziland, South Africa, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panamá, Colombia, and Ecuador.
One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.
This is the part where I will need your help. First, I would like to ask for prayer support. A verse that keeps popping into my head over and over is Mark 16:15 which says, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” This verse is heavy on my heart and through your prayers God will have His will and his way in my life. For the World Race, praying for me on this trip is more important than financial giving. God is in control, and your requests to Him mean the most. I thank you in advance for all prayers that are received.
Secondly, I will need help with fundraising. The total cost of the missions trip is $18,000 which includes the costs of training, travel, lodging, food, and other necessities while abroad (but not any of the gear that I will need). That amount of money is overwhelming, but I know that the God who called me to this is faithful to provide. I know God can perform miracles in the area of finances and am confident that if God is asking you to give, He will provide for all of your needs as well. By supporting this mission, you are a part of God’s Kingdom work! As I take this large step of faith in trusting the Lord, would you prayerfully consider joining me at $100 monthly or some other amount?
