I love memes.

I am always up to date on memes and can tell you what’s the newest dank meme. (Especially Christian memes)

If you don’t know what a meme is heres the dictionary definition of it:

“an element of a culture or system of behavior that may be considered to be passed from one individual to another by nongenetic means, especially imitation.”

What I don’t like about most memes is that they have a very short life cycle. They mysteriously rise in popularity on the internet, get a few laughs, and then die. Some may last longer than others but all memes eventually die.

For example not many people walk around pointing at shoes and saying “WHAT ARE THOSE” anymore or you don’t see many people talking about Harambe (RIP).

The relevancy of memes come and go, like a lot of popular things on the internet.

I’ve noticed that on the internet, its hard to become relevant and stay relevant. And I’ve especially noticed that with everything involving the World Race.

When I first announced that I’m going on the Wolrd Race it was a HUGE deal. Everyone was so excited for me. Even the people I rearly talk to. Now, I feel like I have a hard time getting anyone to watch or share my update videos.

I even put adopt a box on a break and I wonder if anyone has noticed…

I feel the need to constantly fill my social media with World Race content or everyone will forget what God is doing with me.

Don‘t get me wrong. I know the world race is not about me and I’m not complaining about not being the center of attention 24/7. It’s just been an eye opener for me.

How many things are happening around the world that we don’t see because it’s not constantly in our faces? We go about our lives everyday without blinking an eye towards those who need help.

I remember once a friend was becoming a missionary and she said to me, don’t ever expect to receive donations from other people, unless you are donating first.

That really stuck with me. Now every time I hear or see a missionary that needs financial support I give. Even if it’s just a little bit, I give. But, it should not have taken for me to become a missionary to start doing that.

There are so many things happening everyday that are hurting the world we live in. Somethings have been happening for years. It’s become the norm, and we forget the struggles of others.

Just because it’s not relavant, doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
