At the end of February my team flew out of the heaviness that
inhabited Darwin, Australia. We now are settling into a new chapter of our lives;
Life in the Philippines. It only
took 2 days for my heart to fall on the floor and forever be left in this
place. These people are beautiful. Although the Philippines is economically less developed, the
Joy that lives here is contagious.
The landscape is colorful and breathtaking, the energy and activity is
explosive, and the people will melt your heart with their smiles and selfless hospitality.
Care Ministries(ICM). We have been
called to release the poorest of the poor in the Philippines from spiritual,
emotional and physical bondage. The goal of our time here is to be a small part of long-term
projects that are designed bring permanent change to the lives of those living
in poverty. ICM targets families who live below the Philippine subsistence
standard of Php27 (USD0.54) per day.

slums and rural villages; the recipient families participate in classes to
improve values, hygiene and health awareness, money management and livelihood
opportunities. We hand out food supplements and assist with the childrens
programs as well as share testimonies & preach. We are also spending our
time working at the open-air health clinics which provide approx. 75 patients
per/day medical assessments, free medicines as needed, and even counseling. I have been particularly blessed to work
at ICM’s Orphanage, where they house 18 children and fully support them with
meals, school, recreational activities, and a family that shows them true unconditional love. The
strength that lives in these children is inspirational and reveals the true
character of our God. I look
forward to introducing some of these children to you all soon, there stories are life changing! I hope that their lives will inspire you to get involved locally, nationally, or even internationally to help this cause.
